Andrei Machado - Lacuna (2008)

Beautiful soundscapes, heartbreaking melodies, ja, ja. Whatever. Viel zu oft verirren sich Rezensenten in einem Wald ihnen bekannter Wörter, lassen ein Review gleich wie das andere klingen. Zugegeben, es ist sehr schwer gewisse Musik - und die dadurch ausgelöste Emotion - in Worte zu fassen, man fällt dabei leicht zurück in bewährte Muster, aber zur Verteidigung: ein atmosphärisches Album wird immer ein solches sein; emotionale, traurig-schöne Piano Kompositionen werden immer so bleiben und lassen sich dabei auch kaum anders beschreiben.

Beautiful soundscapes, heartbreaking melodies; yeah, whatever. Too often music reviewers get lost in a forrest of known words, leaving a review sound the same like every other. I have to admit, it is really hard to find words for certain music and the emotions it may cause - established patterns are too easy to fall back into, but for the music reviewers defence: an atmospheric album will always remain as such; emotional, teary, beautiful piano compositions will always stay like that and there is no other way describing this.
