Oh Kanada, Eishockey, staatliche Krankenversicherung und Indie/Post-Rock Bands mit leichtem Electronic Einschlag.Old World Vulture stehen in der Tradition von den rockigeren Werken von Broken Social Scene oder Mogwai und auf ihrer selbstbetitelten EP dröhnen Gitarren zu wilden Rhythmen, entspannte Synthesizer erklingen zu sanfter Melodie und dann wird wieder richtig aufgedreht.
Die 3 Songs sind gut strukturiert, atmosphärische Teile wechseln mit energiegeladenen Parts und die Spannung wird von Anfang an aufrechterhalten.
Bei einem Keyboarder in der Band habe ich oft Angst, dass eine gute Rockband durch kitschige Technosounds ruiniert wird, aber gerade hier merkt man, dass die angenehmen elektronischen Klänge den Sound erst so richtig vervollkommnen.
Old World Vulture machen instrumentalen Rock wie er mir gefällt, bleibt für mich nur zu
hoffen, dass man sie auch mal in Europa sieht.
