How to Destroy Angels is a musical supergroup featuring Nine Inch Nails front man Trent Reznor, his wife Mariqueen Maandig and Atticus Ross. Rob Sheridan is the group's art director. The group is named after a 1984 Coil single of the same name.
Today, I'm going to present to you two fantastic little EPs recorded by Taiga Blues from Glasgow, Scotland. What began as a side project is now a thriving project, that helps making ideas and songs come to life that would not be able to be concieved in recording sessions with Carstens other project. A very experimental mix of electronica, jazz and post-rock, that's just what I need for these first summer days. Carsten Mandt, Tim Craig and Michael Gallagher just know how to compose and play smooth, relaxed songs that lighten your mood and make you smile.
I don't want to tell you too much about the music, because that might spoil the surprise. I can only urge you guys to listen to that stuff, it is definitely Grade A material. Two thumbs up for these guys from Glasgow!
Quote: "Yordiscedo is a solo project from music composer Yordi Uytersprot. It's about wandering upon the unknown paths of sound, combining the so-called "uncombinable" and in general just doing what I like to do — surprising people. Expect some instrumental post-rock happiness mixed with energy, 8bit, indie-rock.. Enjoy the musical cocktail!"

Quote: "The Freak & The Protocol is a musical project that tries to use historic or classic speeches with some 'electronic post rock". As I used some of Gandhi's, Martin Luther King's, The Dalai Lama etc. speeches, I feel like I just can't make the people pay for such wise words."

Leicester's Maybeshewill are one of our oldest friends. We toured with them back in May 2008, and ever since then we've stayed good mates and hook up whenever we're down south. We bonded over a shared love of silly porn, big vans and riffs. This remix is especially epic, and seemed a total waste to not release it, or at least do something with it! Big thanks to Robin for putting it together on a dying PC. www.myspace.com/maybeshewont
02. Binary
Binary, or Marco as he's known to his friends, is a one man IDM machine. He's currently a very sought after producer down in London (he was the man behind Blue Roses' debut) and a random commenter on our Facebooks. We first met him whilst playing The Love Apple in Bradford a few times in various bands, and he's always been enthusiastic about us, which is awesome. I remember one time, when we played at St. George's Hall in Bradford, and he was the first face I saw in the crowd when I looked out. Awesome. www.myspace.com/binary1
We hope you enjoy these remixes, and feel free to post them on blogs, burn on CDs, play them to your friends or do anything you like with them.

Quote: "This is my little project titled "cssc" that I started in winter of 2008. I create all the music by myself, using FL Studio (with liberal use of free VSTs). I try to keep everything sounding as realistic as possible, and think I do pretty well with what I have. Obviously, post rock is my biggest influence, I draw a lot from bands like Explosions in the Sky, 65daysofstatic, Russian Circles, and some jazz influences. I write music, because I know of no better way to occupy my time. In writing, there is release."

Somewhere in the middle between ambient, acoustic rock, electronic and modern classical music there are pq . This 7'' has two very calm, relaxing tracks on it, Louise on Earth and Countdown To Elise. If you are in the right mood, both of those tracks can send shivers down your spine and both tracks are only a taste of what pq, hailing from Bruges, Belgium, have to offer. They have also finished recording their debut album which was set for release on Expanding Records in 2009 but has not yet come out.
Until then, you are left with two beautiful little tunes that I definitely urge you to listen to.

Now that summer is just around the bend I have one fantastic summer record for all of you out there: King Sigh's debut Entering is a feel-good alternative-post rock-electronic mix that, if our world was perfect, would be the stuff that was playing on the radio instead of the 100th copy of an imitation. This record is truly original and a lot of fun to listen to.
Hailing from Scherpenheuvel, Belgium, Peter Laermans and Zowie Vangeel (back then there were two, now there are four of them) decided to do some homerecordings and as a result they released this little gem that has been playing a lot at my working place for the last one and a half months to make sure I'm always in a good mood. So, I guess it's time to say thanks to those guys by saying:
This record is truly amazing and I hope that everybody visiting here is going to listen to it and hopefully will like it as much as I do. Thank you guys and keep on making such wonderful music.
PS: I'm very tired right now, so excuse the missing German review, but as a summery for all my fellow Germans:
We know David Walters already from his main project The Echelon Effect. The Lanterne Rouge is his side project and goes the more electronic way and reminds me very much on the great French Teen Idol. Just enjoy it!
