Ja Mann, das ist Stonerdoom. Doomina haben mir ja mit dem 2008er Release March On, Dead Man schon einreden können, dass in Kärnten eine neue Wüstenmetropole entstehen könnte. Jetzt weiß ich endgültig, dass Doomina Sand zum Frühstück essen und diesen mit Whiskey runterspülen.
Explosions in The Sky? Nein, Epigram! Die Ähnlichkeit ist dennoch verblüffend. Gefühlvoller kann man Gitarrensaiten nicht anspielen. Melodien, die verzaubern. Arrangements, die Gänsehaut erzeugen. Drums, die mit Kreativität punkten. Alles in Allem ein super Album, das vor Abwechslung und Verspieltheit nur so glänzt. Der Song, der für mich aber am meisten heraussticht ist „Always An Uncomfortable Silence“. Dieser Song klingt so, als hätten sich EITS mit EF auf ein Bierchen getroffen und anschließend gejammt. Ich muss zugeben, dass dieses Meisterwerk, mir die Chance genommen hat mich auf die anderen Tracks zu konzentrieren. Perfekter kann ein Post-Rock-Titel nicht sein.
In Belgrad, Serbien, gibt es eine große Noise Szene. BelgradeNoise wird sie genannt. Alle Beteiligten verfolgen dasselbe Ziel. Wo0 ist einer davon. Dieser Herr versteht es Klangwelten zu schaffen in der man sich Unwohl fühlt, aber zeitgleich genug Raum lässt um zu verstehen, dass auch Unbehagen Erfüllung bieten kann. Nur auf eine etwas andere Art und Weise. Ich finde sein Werk "With The Flowered Minds" aus dem Jahre 2935 einfach phänomenal. Solche Musik kann nur frei sein.
Mir wurde die Band empfohlen, als sehr ähnlich zu "Ashes and Iron". Was sehr wohl stimmt. Mir persönlich kommen die alten Releases von Callisto aber noch etwas eher in den Sinn. Auch Cult Of Luna, mögen einen großen Einfluss auf die Band haben. Radar gehen auf Remoras sehr brachial vor. Der Hauptteil dieser Brachialität macht in meinen Ohren der Shouter Jaakko aus. Diese Stimme ist einfach unglaublich zerfressen von Verzweiflung, Hass und Zerbrechlichkeit, dass es Einem die Haare zum Himmel stehen lässt. Für diese Art von Musik geradezu perfekt.
Worriedaboutsatan ist ein 2-Mann-Projekt aus Leeds, Großbritannien. Sie mischen gekonnt Elektronische Musik mit Post Rock. Was dabei rauskommt ist wirklich hörenswert. Erinnert mich persönlich stellenweise an "French Teen Idol". Leider gibt es nur 1 Album frei zu laden auf LastFM. Die neuen Releases gehen anscheinend mehr in die Minimal Techno-Richtung. Man darf also gespannt sein, wie sich die Band entwickeln wird. Ein guter Fang sind sie auf alle Fälle!

Der Mond ist letzlich ein großer Haufen Dreck. Und wunderschön. Ausserdem warten seine geografischen Bezeichnungen geradezu auf eine musikalische Umsetzung. Haben sich jedenfalls Our Subatomic Earth aus (Land) gedacht und so liest sich auch die Tracklist zu deren neuem Album „Infinite“ wie das who-is-who einer Mondkarte. „Mare Crisium“ (Meer der Gefahren) und „Oceanus Procellarum“ (Ozean der Stürme) um nur zwei zu nennen.At last, the moon is nothing but a big bunch of dirt. And it is beautiful. Moreover, its geographic names are just waiting for a musical adaptation. These must have been the thoughts of Our Subatomic Earth from (Land), therefore, the tracklist of their new record “Infinite” could be read as the Who-is-Who of a lunar map. Only to mention “Mare Crisium” (See of Menace) and “Oceanus Procellarum” (Ocean of Storms).
The concept of lunar infinity of dirt and beauty works through soundscapes, settled between Mogwai and GY!BE on the one hand and elder Neurosis and Isis on the other. This records receives its very own note first of all through its live-atmosphere. The raw sound has got rehearsal room quality, which leads to unknown intensity in its aerial moments. Unfortunately the same sound leads in riff-dominated hardcore passages to a loss of contour and sometimes nearly to a blatant vacuity. What is a pity, because also these parts should be praised because of their cleverness.
This is why the album certainly will not suite everybody’s taste. It simply is like its concept a lump of elegant dirt, brave and worth to check it and maybe also to fall in love with it.

Satellites is a post-rock/ambient band from United Kingdom with four members. Shorelines is the EP published by the online record label Dedicated Records. Mono, Mogwai, Explosions in the Sky or Sigur Ros are some of the biggest influences of the band. In fact, we can feel something different in this band by the eclecticism within, the simple melodies combined with complex drums and beats and strong guitar riffs. Cloudless Skies opens this work with a powerful and progressive melody. The guitar distortion and the melody make a great connection with the second track - A Glorious Death - which keeps the melancholic mood and alternates with fast sounds and slow rythims that explode into different and complex orgasms of powerfull distorted and melodic guitars of colours and emotions. Lights, the third track, give us a calm moment with interesting drums and soft guitars that explode agressively when we less expect and make us get lost into the deepest chords of typical post-rock ambience. Shorelines is an album of deep breaths. The track Waiting has the power to breath in the night air with a soft guitar and bass lines that explodes in a repetitive way of melody that remains in the next track - Found at the Shorelines - where remains the feeling of how the track will evolve. Floods is the last track of this great work and keeps the post-rock landscapes. In this track, the agressiveness of the melody transports you to a higher level of distorted guitars and strong drum beats. It's also visible some kind of electronic experimentalism softly combined with indie influencies. This is an awsome work that we highly recomend you.Pure orgasms made of guitar riffs and progressive melodies. Please, get lost with this sound.
Heirs aus Australien treten den Beweis an, dass in Down Under nicht nur geerdeter Bluesrock gespielt wird. Stattdessen gibt es auf ihrem Debut Alchera eine recht eigenständige, unheilvolle Version instrumentalen Post Rocks zu hören.
Overdrive Amp Explosion ist ein 4-Mann Schweizer Indie Projekt aus Fribourg. Die Jungs spielen eine Art Post-Rock wie wir ihn z.B. von Giardini di Mirò kennen, bringen aber immer wieder eine gesunde Portion Härte in ihren Sound, die mehr an Indie Rock Bands erinnert - mit einer Spur von Sentimentalität.
Somewhere off Jazz Street ist ein Dark Jazz Projekt aus den USA. Das gewohnte Repertoire der bekannteren Jazz Noir Künstler wird dabei aber mehrheitlich ausser Acht gelassen. Somewhere off Jazz Street verbindet elektronische Elemente, die sich mehr vom Ambient (hat allerdings auch öfters post-rock Einflüss!) entfernen als zum Beispiel Bohren & der Club of Gore und klassische Jazz Elemente, weiss aber durchaus die düstere Atmosphäre herzustellen, wie es ein Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble vermag.
